Social Planner Posts Trigger Added to Workflows
TL;DR
HighLevel added a Social Planner Posts trigger to Workflows, enabling automations based on social post statuses, platforms, and filters.

TL;DR
HighLevel added a Social Planner Posts workflow trigger based on post statuses like published, failed, or approval requested. If you automate social media operations or client review processes, you can start building with it now.
Who this affects
HighLevel has not confirmed which specific agency plans or sub-accounts are affected. Any team using Social Planner to schedule content across client accounts can use this trigger, provided those social profiles are connected directly through Social Planner rather than the Integrations tab.
What changed
HighLevel added a dedicated Social Planner Posts trigger inside Workflows with multiple status options and granular filters:
- New trigger added: Social Planner Posts is now an available trigger in Workflows.
- Supported post status events: Workflows can fire when a post is marked as Approval Requested, Approved, Approval Rejected, Scheduled, Published, or Failed.
- Platform filtering: You can filter triggers by specific networks, including Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Format filtering: Posts can be filtered by type, covering Carousels, Posts, Reels, Shorts, and Stories.
- Account and metadata filters: You can filter by Category, post tags, and specific connected Social Planner accounts.
- Connection restrictions: Only accounts connected directly inside Social Planner are supported. Accounts connected through Integrations will not fire the trigger yet.
- Plan gating, replacement impact, and rollout status have not been confirmed by HighLevel.
Where to find it
You can find this trigger inside any sub-account by navigating to Automation → Workflows. When creating or editing a workflow, click to add a new workflow trigger and search for Social Planner Posts.
How agencies will use this
Agencies running client review processes can build an internal review workflow. When a team member creates a post and sets it to Approval Requested, the Social Planner Posts trigger fires. The workflow checks filters for the specific connected Social Planner account and Category, then sends an internal notification to the account manager or client to review the draft. If the post status shifts to Approval Rejected or Failed, a branching action can alert the content creator immediately to fix the issue before the schedule lapses.
Our take
This is a useful update that closes a long-standing disconnect between Social Planner and Workflows. Being able to trigger off Failed or Approval Requested statuses removes the need to manually monitor posting queues. The current limitation on accounts connected through Integrations is an annoyance, but if your profiles are connected natively inside Social Planner, this is worth implementing immediately.
