Workflows UX Update for Dynamic Values
TL;DR
GoHighLevel Workflows received UX updates for dynamic values, showing custom values as clickable chips and adding a '/' shortcut for search.

TL;DR
Workflows got a small user experience improvement for handling custom values. You do not need to take any action; existing functionality is unchanged.
Who this affects
Anyone building or editing automations within HighLevel Workflows will see these changes. This is a user interface update, so it affects all agency owners and their clients who use Workflows. HighLevel has not confirmed if there are any plan-level restrictions.
What changed
HighLevel updated the user experience for dynamic values within Workflows. Custom values now appear as clickable chips when you are building out steps in a workflow. Additionally, you can now type a forward slash (/) directly into text fields within Workflows to search for and insert a custom value. Existing custom values and their functionality remain the same; this is purely a UI enhancement. HighLevel has not confirmed any limits or plan gating, nor has it provided details on the rollout status.
Where to find it
This update is live within the Workflows section of HighLevel. When you are in a sub-account, navigate to 'Automation' and then 'Workflows'. Inside any workflow, when you interact with fields where custom values can be inserted, you will observe the new clickable chips and the '/' search functionality.
How agencies will use this
This update streamlines the process of adding dynamic content to messages and actions within Workflows. For example, when building an appointment confirmation workflow, an agency owner previously had to manually type or scroll through a list to find custom values like {{contact.first_name}} or {{appointment.start_date}}. Now, when editing an 'Send SMS' action, they can type '/' to quickly search for 'first name' or 'appointment date' and insert the correct custom value. Similarly, when setting up an 'Update Contact Field' action, they might see existing custom values as clickable chips, making it easier to select them without hunting through dropdowns. This change slightly speeds up workflow creation and editing for all sub-accounts, reducing the chance of error when inserting personalized data.
Our take
This is a minor UI update. While it offers a small convenience for those who frequently build and edit Workflows, it does not introduce new capabilities or break any existing processes. It's a quality-of-life improvement, not a significant feature release. We expect most users to notice it passively rather than actively celebrating it. Focus on core business; this update is not a priority.
