Course Filtering Arrives in Communities Learning Page

TL;DR

Members can now filter and sort courses within the Learning page of Communities. This is a minor improvement for those using HighLevel for course delivery.

Who this affects

This change affects any HighLevel agency owners or SaaS entrepreneurs who deliver courses through the Communities feature. Specifically, it impacts the experience for members enrolled in those courses. HighLevel has not confirmed who specifically is affected, such as by plan level or sub-account setup. However, it is relevant for anyone whose clients use the Learning page within Communities.

What changed

HighLevel has introduced new filtering and sorting capabilities for courses in Communities. Members can now refine their course view using several parameters:

  • Filter courses by Topic, Difficulty, and Language.
  • Sort courses by Title (A-Z/Z-A), Newest, or Oldest.

These functionalities are also available on the HighLevel mobile app. On mobile, filter chips are displayed at the top of the Learning tab for quick access. A bottom sheet interface is used for selecting filter and sort values on mobile devices. HighLevel has not confirmed if this replaces or breaks any existing functionality, what limits or plan gating apply, or the rollout status of this feature.

Where to find it

This new functionality is located within the Learning page inside Communities. To access it, members would navigate to a Community, then select the 'Learning' tab. The new filter and sort options will appear there. HighLevel has not published a more specific navigation path yet.

How agencies will use this

An agency running a SaaS business might offer multiple training courses through their HighLevel Community, covering different topics like 'Lead Generation,' 'CRM Setup,' and 'Sales Automation.' They might also categorize courses by difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) and offer content in various languages. Before this update, a member looking for a specific course would scroll through a potentially long list. With course filtering, a member can now quickly select 'Difficulty: Intermediate' and 'Topic: Sales Automation' to narrow down the options. If they remember seeing a new course recently but not its exact title, they can sort by 'Newest' to find it efficiently. This improves the user experience for members navigating extensive course libraries, making it easier for them to find relevant content.

Our take

This is a standard quality-of-life update. It addresses a common pain point for members navigating course libraries, especially for agencies with a large volume of courses. While not a groundbreaking feature, it improves the usability of the Communities section for course delivery. Agencies running extensive course libraries will find this useful for their members. For others, it's a minor improvement that won't significantly change operations this week.
