AI-Powered Field Tooltips Added to HighLevel Workflows
TL;DR
HighLevel has introduced AI-powered field tooltips with an Explain field option inside workflow action settings, starting with manual SMS and call actions.

TL;DR
HighLevel added AI-powered field tooltips and an Explain field assistant directly inside workflow action settings.
You do not need to take immediate action unless your team builds or manages manual SMS and manual call workflow steps.
Who this affects
HighLevel has not confirmed which specific subscription plans, account tiers, or user roles are affected by this release. Anyone building or editing automations in Workflows may see the new tooltips.
What changed
- Added AI-powered field tooltips featuring an Explain field option inside workflow action settings.
- Enabled access to field explanations through the information icon next to action fields.
- Added support for Explain field specifically on manual SMS and manual call actions.
- Added the ability to ask follow-up questions to the workflow AI assistant directly from the field tooltips.
- Configured Explain field so that viewing explanations does not modify your workflow settings.
- Plan gating, usage limits, and rollout status have not been confirmed by HighLevel.
- It is unknown whether this replaces or breaks any existing setup.
Where to find it
Navigate to Workflows in your HighLevel sub-account. Open a workflow containing either a manual SMS action or a manual call action, open the action settings, and click the information icon next to a field to access the Explain field option.
How agencies will use this
An agency operator or client team member configuring a workflow can open a manual SMS or manual call action. When they run into an unfamiliar field, they can click the information icon and select Explain field to read what the setting does. If they need further clarity, they can ask follow-up questions directly to the workflow AI assistant from the tooltip interface. Because reviewing explanations does not modify any workflow settings, staff can verify settings and troubleshoot automation logic without the risk of accidentally altering live configurations.
Our take
HighLevel lists this as a major update, but in its current form, it is relatively minor. Support is currently confined to just two actions: manual SMS and manual call. The design is practical, particularly the fact that asking questions and viewing tooltips will not overwrite or alter your existing workflow settings. However, until HighLevel expands this AI assistant across the rest of the workflow triggers and actions, it remains a small quality-of-life helper rather than a workflow overhaul.
