Workflow Publish Validation Gate Now Stops Errors
TL;DR
GoHighLevel now prevents publishing workflows with unresolved errors and offers tools to fix them.

TL;DR
Publishing workflows with errors is now blocked. HighLevel provides tools to find and fix configuration issues before publishing.
Who this affects
HighLevel has not confirmed who is affected by this update. Any agency owner or SaaS entrepreneur who builds or manages workflows in HighLevel should be aware of these changes. Those who rarely or never use workflows can safely ignore this.
What changed
- HighLevel now stops you from publishing a workflow if it has unresolved configuration issues.
- Errors are now displayed directly when you try to publish a workflow with issues.
- Assistance to fix workflow issues is provided on the spot within the platform.
- Frontend and backend validations are now merged into a single 'Highlight Error' sidebar, centralizing error reporting.
- Each reported error comes with two actions: you can 'open the step directly' to go straight to the problem, or 'take AI's help to resolve it'.
- Auto save and manual save functions now work even when errors are present on the workflow canvas.
- Saving is no longer blocked when errors exist on the canvas, allowing you to save your progress even with incomplete configurations.
- Publishing is blocked until all workflow errors are fully resolved, ensuring only functional workflows go live.

Where to find it
This feature will be found when you click 'Publish' on your workflow. HighLevel has not confirmed where else in the product this feature might be accessible.
How agencies will use this
An agency owner building an onboarding workflow for a new client sub-account can now work on the workflow, making changes and saving progress even if some steps are incomplete or misconfigured. For instance, they might be waiting on a specific custom field ID or an integration to be set up. Previously, these errors could block saving. Now, they can save their work. When they attempt to publish the workflow, HighLevel will present a 'Highlight Error' sidebar. If a 'Send Email' action is missing an email template, the error will appear there. The agency owner can then click 'open the step directly' to navigate to the 'Send Email' action and select the correct template, or use the AI's help to guide them to a resolution. This process ensures the workflow is fully functional before it goes live, preventing broken automations from affecting client leads or processes.
Our take
This is a major update for anyone managing workflows. It directly addresses a common pain point: workflows breaking or failing due to overlooked errors. By blocking publishing until errors are resolved, HighLevel is forcing a higher standard of workflow reliability. The integrated error highlighting and resolution tools should save significant troubleshooting time, making workflow creation more efficient and less prone to post-launch issues. This change matters this week for any agency actively building or deploying workflows for clients.
