QR Codes Can Now Be Saved To Apple & Google Wallet

TL;DR

GoHighLevel QR codes can now be saved directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. No immediate action is required from agencies as this is a new capability.

Who this affects

HighLevel has not confirmed who is affected by this update. Agencies using the QR Code Builder will find this relevant.

What changed

QR codes created or existing in HighLevel can now be saved directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Wallet passes display QR code details such as type, location, destination, and context. These wallet passes are designed specifically for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet platforms. Currently, Agency Branding is displayed in the header of wallet passes and is enabled by default. HighLevel plans to make Agency Branding optional on wallet passes in a future update. Apple Wallet supports displaying a Profile Image on the pass, while Google Wallet does not. HighLevel has not confirmed any limits or plan gating for this feature. HighLevel has not confirmed the rollout status of this feature.

Where to find it

This new capability is located within the QR Code Builder. HighLevel has not published the exact navigation path, but it will be found where QR codes are created and managed.

How agencies will use this

An agency can generate a QR code in the HighLevel QR Code Builder for an event, such as a client webinar. This QR code could link to a registration page or a specific offer. Instead of just printing the QR code or emailing an image, clients can now save this QR code directly to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. This provides an easily accessible digital pass for attendees. When the attendee arrives at the event, they simply open their phone's wallet app, display the pass, and the QR code can be scanned. The pass itself displays relevant information like the event type, location, and destination, making it a convenient digital ticket or access pass for physical or virtual events managed through the HighLevel platform.

Our take

This is a major update. The ability to save QR codes to digital wallets significantly improves user experience for clients and their customers. It provides a more integrated, convenient way to utilize QR codes beyond simple scanning. Agencies can leverage this for events, loyalty programs, or direct access links, making HighLevel a more central tool for customer engagement. The current default Agency Branding is a good start, and making it optional later will offer more flexibility.
