Localizing Calendar, Services, Rentals Notification Templates

TL;DR

HighLevel added internationalization to notification templates for Calendars, Services, and Rentals. Existing setups need manual reset to use localized versions.

Who this affects

This affects agency owners and SaaS entrepreneurs using Calendars, Services, or Rentals within GoHighLevel, particularly those serving international clients or clients operating in multiple languages. Agencies with existing templates will need to take action to implement the changes. HighLevel has not confirmed who is affected regarding specific plan levels or sub-account types.

What changed

Internationalization (i18n) was added to notification templates across Calendars, Services, and Rentals. Default templates now localize based on the Business Profile's Platform Language. Customized templates remain as saved and are not affected by localization. Newly created calendars, Services, and Rentals locations automatically receive localized default templates. Existing calendars, Services, and Rentals retain current templates; users must click 'Reset to Default' to apply localized versions. Localized templates are supported across Email, SMS, and WhatsApp channels, where each product supports them. Calendar notification coverage includes Assigned User, Additional Email, Additional Phone, Contact, and Guest templates. Services and Rentals notification coverage includes all recipients of each notification type. All notification templates resolve their language from the Business Profile Platform Language. HighLevel has not confirmed rollout status, limits, or plan gating.

Where to find it

For Calendars, navigate to Calendar Settings then Notifications. For Services and Rentals, navigate to Global Settings then Notifications. This is where you will find the options to manage these localized templates.

How agencies will use this

An agency manages a sub-account for a client with operations in Germany. Previously, their booking notifications were in English unless manually translated for each template. With this update, the agency sets the Business Profile's Platform Language to German for that sub-account. Any new calendar or service setup will now automatically generate default notification templates in German. For existing calendars, the agency navigates to the calendar's notification settings and clicks 'Reset to Default' on each template to apply the German localized versions. This ensures all booking confirmations, reminders, and cancellations are sent in the client's local language without manual translation, improving the end-user experience.

Our take

This is a significant update for agencies with an international client base or those managing multi-lingual sub-accounts. While HighLevel has not confirmed the full significance, the ability to localize notifications automatically reduces manual effort and improves communication. It requires manual intervention for existing setups, which is an important detail for agencies to note. The impact is substantial if your agency serves non-English speaking markets.
