Global Search Added to HighLevel Media Library

TL;DR

HighLevel's Media Library now features a global search function. This allows finding files across all folders in an account. No immediate action is required from users.

Who this affects

This update affects all HighLevel users who interact with the Media Library. Agency owners and their clients will find it useful for managing digital assets. HighLevel has not confirmed if there are any plan-specific limitations.

What changed

Users can now utilize Global Search within the HighLevel Media Library. This search functionality extends across every folder within an account, enabling users to locate files regardless of their current browsing location. Searching can be initiated from any folder.

When viewing search results in list view, the full folder path for each file is displayed. A new 'Open Containing Folder' option allows direct navigation to a file's specific location. After clearing a search, users are returned to their previous browsing location. HighLevel has not confirmed specific rollout status, limits, or if this feature replaces or breaks any existing functionality.

Where to find it

The Global Search will be accessible directly within the HighLevel Media Library interface. Look for a search bar or icon typically located at the top or side of the media library view. HighLevel has not published the exact navigation path, but it will live directly within the Media Library section of any HighLevel account.

How agencies will use this

Consider an agency managing several sub-accounts, each with its own Media Library filled with client-specific images, videos, and PDFs. Previously, finding a particular logo or banner across multiple nested folders could be time-consuming. With Global Search, an agency team member can navigate to any sub-account's Media Library, type in a keyword like "Client X Logo" or "Spring Campaign Banner," and instantly see all relevant files from any folder within that account. They can then use the 'Open Containing Folder' option to jump to the file's location, confirm it's the correct asset, or easily manage its permissions without extensive manual folder navigation. This streamlines asset retrieval for client marketing efforts, website builds, or social media content creation.

Our take

This is a standard quality-of-life improvement. The ability to quickly locate assets without navigating deep folder structures is a common feature expectation for any media management tool. While not a groundbreaking update, it directly addresses a usability friction point within the Media Library. HighLevel has not confirmed if this replaces or breaks anything, nor have they confirmed rollout status or any plan gating. It's a minor but welcome enhancement for anyone frequently using the Media Library.
