Customize White Label Mobile App Module Links

TL;DR

GoHighLevel now allows customization of white-label mobile app module links, including internal/external links, role-based visibility, and account-level targeting.

Customize White Label Mobile App Module Links

TL;DR

HighLevel now lets you customize mobile app navigation links. You can add internal or external links, control who sees them by role, and target specific sub-accounts. No immediate action is required unless you want to update your mobile app.

Who this affects

This affects agency owners and SaaS entrepreneurs who provide a white-labeled mobile app to their clients. If you are not using the HighLevel white-label mobile app feature, this update does not concern you. HighLevel has not confirmed if there are any plan-level restrictions.

What changed

HighLevel has introduced several new customization options for module links within the white-label mobile app. These changes give agencies more control over the mobile app experience for their clients:

  • Link Type: Users can now add both internal links, pointing to other areas within the HighLevel platform, and external links, directing users to any outside URL.
  • Role-Based Visibility: Links can be configured to appear only for 'Admin' users or for all 'User' roles. This allows for differentiated access to resources based on the user's permissions within a sub-account.
  • Account-Level Targeting: Agencies can now target specific sub-accounts with particular links. This means a link can be made visible only to certain client accounts, offering tailored experiences.
  • Link Behavior: You can define whether a link opens directly within the in-app browser or, for external links, whether it should open in the device's native mobile browser.
  • Branding Options: The customization extends to branding elements of the white-label navigation. This includes editing the Title, Subtitle, Call-to-Action (CTA) text, and the Logo displayed within the mobile app's navigation.

HighLevel has not confirmed any limits or plan gating for these features. The rollout status is also unknown.

Where to find it

The new settings for customizing mobile app module links and navigation branding are located within the "Mobile App settings" and "Customize App" sections of your HighLevel account. HighLevel has not published the exact navigation path beyond this, but it will likely be found under the Agency Settings or Agency Branding areas.

How agencies will use this

An agency can now offer a more tailored mobile experience for their SaaS clients. For example, an agency managing lead generation for real estate agents could add a direct link to a custom property search portal, hosted externally, right within their white-label mobile app's main navigation. They could set this link to open in the mobile device's default browser for better performance on a complex external site. For an internal link, the agency might create a custom dashboard in HighLevel for 'Admin' users, showing high-level performance metrics, and add a role-based link in the mobile app navigation only visible to those 'Admin' users. Meanwhile, a 'User' role (like a junior agent) might see a link to a training video library hosted on a different platform, specifically targeted to their sub-account via account-level targeting. This level of customization allows agencies to guide users more effectively within their specific workflows and provide quick access to essential tools, whether internal to HighLevel or external.

Our take

This is a standard update that brings more control over the white-label mobile app experience. It's useful for agencies who actively leverage the mobile app and want to integrate external resources or provide specific internal navigation paths. It’s not a major platform-wide change, but it offers incremental value for improving client experience within the app. If you don't use the white-label mobile app, this is a minor update you can safely ignore.
