Client Portal Login Just Got Smarter: No More Dead Ends!
TL;DR
Go HighLevel has introduced a graceful OTP fallback for expired Client Portal magic links, automatically redirecting users to an OTP login instead of a dead end.
What changed
When a contact clicks on an expired Client Portal magic link, they will no longer encounter an error. Instead, Go HighLevel automatically redirects them to an OTP (One-Time Password) verification screen. An OTP is sent to the contact's email address (which is masked for privacy on screen), allowing them to regain access immediately.
Why it matters
This update significantly reduces login friction for your clients. Previously, expired magic links meant clients had to request a new link, causing delays and increasing support requests for agencies. Now, clients can self-recover access securely and instantly, improving their experience and saving your team time.
How to use it
There is no setup required on your part; this feature is automatically enabled for Client Portal magic link authentication using auth-v2. Simply inform your clients that if their magic link expires, they will be prompted for an OTP to log in effortlessly. This ensures a smoother, more efficient access experience for all Client Portal users.
