SMS Action Test Field Gets Country Picker, UI Update
TL;DR
The test phone number field within the Send SMS action now features a country flag picker and an updated interface.

TL;DR
The Send SMS action now has an improved test phone number field with a country picker. No immediate action is required from agency owners.
Who this affects
This update affects anyone using the 'Send SMS' action within Go HighLevel workflows, particularly when testing SMS messages. HighLevel has not confirmed specific user roles or plan levels affected.
What changed
The test phone number field in the Send SMS action has been updated with a standard phone input that includes a country flag picker. The previous hint, which requested users to add country codes, has been removed. Error messages for invalid numbers now plainly state 'Invalid phone number.' The country picker automatically defaults to the sub-account's country. When a number is entered, it is saved in the full international format before the test SMS is sent. Users can click the flag icon to open a searchable list of countries by name or dialing code. HighLevel has not confirmed rollout status, limits, or plan gating for this feature.
Where to find it
This update is located within Workflows. Navigate to a workflow, select or add a 'Send SMS' action, and then locate the 'Test Phone Number' field within that action's configuration.
How agencies will use this
An agency owner setting up a new client's lead nurturing workflow might use this. For example, after configuring an initial SMS to new leads in a workflow, they would typically test the SMS action before publishing the workflow. When they open the 'Send SMS' action, they can now enter a test phone number in the designated field. Instead of manually typing in the country code, they will see a flag icon. If the sub-account is set to the US, the US flag will appear by default. If they need to test with a Canadian number, they can click the flag, search for 'Canada,' select it, and then simply type the local Canadian number. This ensures the number is correctly formatted for testing and helps prevent common misconfigurations related to missing country codes, which could otherwise lead to failed test messages and require troubleshooting before the workflow goes live.
Our take
This is a minor UI convenience update. It addresses a small friction point for agencies testing SMS messages, particularly across different countries, but it doesn't introduce new capabilities or significantly alter workflow functionality. It's a quality-of-life improvement that might save a few seconds during testing, but it's unlikely to impact your agency's operations or client services this week.
