Set Default Dashboard During Snapshot Load

TL;DR

HighLevel now allows users to set a default dashboard for destination sub-accounts directly during the Snapshot Load process.

Set Default Dashboard During Snapshot Load

TL;DR

Users can now assign a default dashboard when loading a Snapshot into a sub-account. This streamlines the setup process for new accounts.

Who this affects

This update affects any agency owner or SaaS entrepreneur who regularly uses Snapshots to provision new sub-accounts. If you load Snapshots, this is relevant to you. If your process does not involve Snapshots, you can safely disregard this change.

What changed

HighLevel has introduced a new option during the Snapshot Load process.

  • A "Set as default" option is now included for each selected dashboard during Snapshot Load.
  • Only one dashboard can be marked as default during Snapshot Load.
  • If you select another dashboard as default, the previous default selection will switch.
  • Deselecting a default dashboard will revert to the existing behavior, which means no new default is set during the load.
  • If no default is selected at all, the Snapshot's existing default dashboard will be used in the destination sub-account. This implies that if a Snapshot already has a default dashboard configured, that setting will prevail unless overridden.
  • HighLevel has not confirmed who is affected, what this replaces or breaks, any limits or plan gating, or its rollout status.

Where to find it

HighLevel has not published the exact location yet. Based on the feature name, this functionality will appear within the Snapshot Load process. Expect to see the "Set as default" option next to dashboard selections when applying a Snapshot to a new or existing sub-account.

How agencies will use this

An agency onboarding a new client, for example, a local gym, might use a pre-built "Gym Snapshot" containing all necessary campaigns, funnels, and workflows. This Snapshot includes several dashboards: one for overall lead flow, one for membership sales, and one for staff management. Previously, after loading the Snapshot into the new gym's sub-account, an agency operator would have to manually navigate to the sub-account settings to select the primary dashboard, often the "Overall Lead Flow" dashboard, as the default for the client. With this update, during the Snapshot Load process, the operator can directly check the "Set as default" box next to the "Overall Lead Flow" dashboard. This means when the gym owner logs in for the first time, they immediately see the most relevant dashboard without any additional setup steps from the agency, streamlining client handoff.

Our take

This is a small but useful quality-of-life improvement. While not a monumental shift, it addresses a minor operational friction point for agencies that frequently provision sub-accounts using Snapshots. It simplifies the setup for new clients by removing one post-Snapshot configuration step. It's not a reason to re-evaluate your agency operations, but it will save a few clicks per client rollout. Its significance is major only in the sense that it impacts a core agency workflow, but the change itself is minor in scope.
